I'm writing documentation for program source code, and I'm wondering if use of amount of in

transfer amount of 'value' tokens from A to B

is valid, where 'value' is numerical variable. (e.g. 'value' is 7, transfer 7 tokens from A to B)

I think amount of 'value' and tokens both are noun phrase so these are cannot be used together, but the sentence sounds legit to me somehow.
