Where does the word Sparryheid come from and mean?

In Irvine Welsh's "The Acid House", the story called "Wayne Foster" describes two people as Sparryheids. I haven't been able to find a definition for that, or for Sparryhead (which is guess is how it would be written in an English accent).
Does anyone know the origin and meaning of Sparryhead?
